Think Beyond Your Next Job: Creating a Career Vision

A job is something you do for a season. A career vision is what guides your journey for years.

Why You Need a Vision
In a fast-changing industry like fashion, having a clear sense of direction helps you evaluate new opportunities and avoid detours that don’t serve you.

How to Create Your Career Vision

  1. Look Ahead 3–5 Years: Where do you want to be? Leading a design team? Running your own brand? Consulting globally?
  2. Write a Vision Statement: A one-sentence summary of the work you want to do, the impact you want to make, and the lifestyle you want to maintain.
  3. Check Every Opportunity Against It: If a role doesn’t align, it’s okay to say no.

Accountability Matters
Sharing your vision with a coach or mentor keeps you on track, and makes it easier to navigate the inevitable twists and turns of your career.
