Do you have a traveling buddy?
My buddies are my sister and a very good friend of ours. We are all widows, so we have so much in common. We make it a point to do weekend getaways or short trips at least every month or two.
Last week, we spent a few days in the beautiful coastal town of Sam Clemente, CA. We stayed in a condo right across the street from the ocean and the San Clemente pier. There is nothing like the relaxing sound of the ocean throughout the night! The only downside is that it’s also right across the street from the train tracks that move people and freight between San Diego and Los Angeles. You “gotta love the sound of a train,”…especially in the middle of the night! LOL
It’s so important to take breaks away from your regular routine to re-energize. When I do, I don’t turn on the TV because I find it very distracting from my goal of “just chillin’” We play RummiCube, catch up on non-work-related reading, try new restaurants, and talk, talk, talk about everything!
I confess I did attend an amazing 1-hour webinar session on Executive Coaching with Angie M. Callen, CERW, CPRW, CPCC at Career Benders, Inc. . I was on the patio with my laptop, and in the background was the beach with palm trees. (This is the only time I used my laptop.) I had to explain to the attendees that it was NOT a virtual background!
My next trip in a couple of weeks will be to Palm Springs in 100+ degree temperatures! I will be spending a lot of time in the pool wearing a big hat!
