In the last couple of months, I have been contacted by quite a few people who have been laid off or “feel” like they are going to be laid off, to write their resumes and update their LinkedIn profiles. There is a lot of uncertainty out there right now in certain companies and the best way to combat what has happened, or may happen, is to get prepared.
What does that look like?
As I always say, “Everybody needs a resume”, whether it’s for a promotion at work, a job search, or a career change. Make sure your LinkedIn profile is updated and reflects your current position and job history accurately. Perspective employers and recruiters will be searching through profiles with relevant key words, so making sure yours is accurate is a must!
I understand what you may be going through. I have personally experienced downsizing, location closures, division closures, and layoffs throughout my own career, from the management side, and from the employee side.
I would be happy to assist you by preparing your professional documents including a “modern”, targeted resume compliant with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), a corresponding cover letter, and a visible LinkedIn profile.
